The distinguished historian Andreas Froese took over the directorship of the Mittelbau-Dora Memorial in Nordhausen on 1 January 2024. Froese has relevant experience in memorial site work throughout Germany. Most recently, he managed the Isenschnibbe Barn Memorial in Gardelegen (Saxony-Anhalt) for around nine years, which was comprehensively redesigned under his direction. However, Froese is no stranger to Nordhausen and the Mittelbau-Dora Memorial: He completed a traineeship at the memorial from 2012 to 2014.
