11 April 2023 marks the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Buchenwald concentration camp.
It is the 78th anniversary. Four days before the liberation, on 7 April 1945, the SS began to clear the camp.
Tens of thousands of prisoners were sent on so-called death marches. About one in three
died of exhaustion on the way or was murdered by the SS, the Volkssturm or young
or youths of the Hitler Youth.

On the occasion of this year's anniversary of the liberation of Buchenwald Concentration Camp, we will be
project "1000 Buchen", nine trees will be planted in the municipality of Kromsdorf to commemorate the death marches and the victims of the National Socialist "euthanasia" murder programme.
The sponsorships are taken over by relatives and friends.
