Mourning the Death of Julian Wieciech Survivor of the Mittelbau concentration camp

We mourn the loss of Julian Wieciech (1927-2024), a survivor of the Mittelbau concentration camp. He died on Saturday at the age of 97.

„Barrierefrei erinnern – Das Zentrum für Thüringen“ erhält Margot Friedländer Preis Kooperationsprojekt ausgezeichnet - Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

Am gestrigen Abend wurde in Berlin der Preis der Margot-Friedländer-Stiftung verliehen. Die Jury würdigte das Projekt „Barrierefrei erinnern“ der Lebenshilfe Thüringen für sein Engagement um die Aufklärung über die Verbrechen des Nationalsozialismus in einfacher und leichter Sprache.

KZ-Gedenkstätten in ihrer gesellschaftlichen Aufgabe gestärkt Versuch der AfD, die Arbeit der Gedenkstätten einzuschränken, per Gerichtsbeschluss abgewehrt.

Prof. Dr. Jens-Christian Wagner, der Direktor der Stiftung Gedenkstätten Buchenwald und Mittelbau-Dora, konstatiert: „Der Beschluss des Verwaltungsgerichtes Weimar ist von grundsätzlicher Bedeutung für alle Gedenkstätten in Deutschland, da er ihre gesellschaftliche Funktion bestätigt, die Erinnerung an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus auch in den politischen Auseinandersetzungen der Gegenwart zu bewahren.
